The Complete AEOboost Guide: From Store Connection to AI Visibility

Jun 23, 2026AEO Boost App

Welcome to AEOboost, your central command center for AI Engine Optimization (AEO). This guide takes you step-by-step through connecting your store, defining your Brand DNA, and ensuring your products stand out as top recommendations across platforms like ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, and Gemini.

1. Set Up Your Brand DNA

Before optimizing any products, AEOboost needs to understand your business inside out so every AI-generated description sounds authentic to your brand.

  1. Navigate to the Brand DNA Hub: Go to the Brand DNA tab in your sidebar.
  2. Scan your store: Paste your e-commerce homepage URL into the Auto-read from your store field and click Generate.
  3. Review AI insights: Our system automatically infers your Brand Voice, Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), Price Positioning, and analyzes the market to discover your Key Competitors.
  4. Save changes: Fine-tune any text fields to your liking, add or modify the competitors, and click Save Brand DNA.

2. Connect Your Store (Shopify / WooCommerce)

You have total control over when to link your store. AEOboost uses official, secure API credentials to establish a seamless, two-way live sync.

  1. Go to the Store Connections tab and click Link a store.
  2. Select your platform (Shopify or WooCommerce) from the dropdown menu.
  3. Enter your Store URL and the required API credentials (such as your Admin API access token for Shopify, or Consumer Key/Secret for WooCommerce).
  4. Click Link Store. Our system will immediately validate the connection. No descriptions on your live site will be altered until you explicitly request an optimization.

3. Import and Optimize Your Product Catalog

Once your store is successfully linked, you can pull your live products into AEOboost for full visibility mapping.

  1. In the Store Connections screen, click Sync now to fetch your catalog.
  2. Head over to the Product Catalog tab. You will see all your imported items along with their current AEO Score and sync Status.
  3. To optimize a single item, click Optimize next to any product with a Pending status.
  4. To optimize multiple items at once, use the checkboxes on the left side of the catalog table to select your targets and trigger a Bulk Optimize.

Once optimized, the status changes to Synced to store, meaning the new, AI-tailored description has been pushed directly back to your e-commerce platform via our active two-way sync.

4. Monitor AI Visibility & Track Competitor Leakage

Your dashboard acts as an automated engagement tracker, showing you exactly where you stand in the conversational search landscape.

  • AI Monitoring Insights: Use your main dashboard metrics to track Total AI Citations, month-over-month growth, and your Est. Ad-Spend Saved (the organic dollar value generated by your AI recommendations).
  • At-Risk Products: If conversational algorithms shift and an optimized item drops in visibility, it will flag as Requires Re-Optimization. You can run these updates directly from the dashboard—re-optimizing an existing SKU never consumes additional plan credits.
  • Competitor Citation Leakage: Monitor the exact query spaces (e.g., “best gift under $50”) where your store is losing visibility (“leaking” citations) to your real-world competitors, allowing you to react instantly.

5. Usage, Billing & the AI-Shield Protocol

Track your SKU volume and safeguard your optimization edge.

  • Plan Monitoring: Check the Usage & Billing tab to see your current footprint (e.g., using 68 out of 100 SKUs included in your Starter Plan).
  • Overage Scaling: If your catalog grows beyond your plan ceiling, additional items are automatically optimized and monitored for a flat, low-cost fee per extra SKU.
  • The AI-Shield Protocol: Search engines refresh their algorithm weightings constantly, and competitors are always trying to capture your citation share. Maintaining an active subscription keeps the AI-Shield Protocol alive, ensuring AEOboost continually updates your product metadata against weekly algorithm shifts.
